Hello and Happy Thursday to you. Today on the BE Blog I’m talking about wedding songs.
If you’ve never been married before, deciding on what songs you’ll incorporate into your ceremony and important parts of your reception can be tough. These songs should represent you two as a couple, engage your guests and evoke just the right emotion you’re going for.
Given how significant music can be during a wedding, I sometimes cringe when I hear overused songs for example Beyoncé “Single Ladies” for the bouquet toss. Now, I am a Beyoncé fan but, there are so many other great songs out there to consider.
Below is a condensed list of songs to consider using for your wedding day. If you would like a comprehensive list, you can just send me a message here.
Wedding Ceremony Songs
Jennifer Hudson – “Giving Myself”
Teddy Pendergrass – “You’re My Latest Greatest Inspiration”
Wedding Reception Songs
Father/daughter dance: John Mayer – “Daughters”
Mother/son dance: Boyz II Men – “The Perfect Fan”
Cake cutting: Goapele – “Closer to My Dreams”
Bouquet toss: Brooke Valentine – “Girl fight”
Garter toss: Lacrae – “All I Need is You”
Until next Thursday, dream big and stay inspired!
